Therapeutic massage is a general term that describes any type of massage modality that helps relieve pain, reduce stress, and work on a specific problem—such as a frozen shoulder. These massages will focus on the needs of the full body, unless you specifically request certain areas of focus. A combination of therapeutic modalities that may be used, such as:

Deep tissue massage therapy is similar to Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints). If you are looking to relieve specific pain problems or chronic issues, please select Therapeutic massage instead.

Structural Integration's aim is to unwind the strain patterns residing in the body's myofascial system, restoring it to its natural balance, alignment, length, and ease. This is accomplished by deep, slow, fascial and myofascial manipulation, coupled with movement re-education.

This modality is the right choice for clients with more severe, structural issues that need to be resolved over time.

Pressure cupping involves the use of suction to gently lift up the skin and superficial muscle into the cup. In this way, the therapy can be considered as an inversion of massage. Instead of applying a pressure downward on the muscles, cupping uses pressure upwards to lift the muscles. For many, this provides a relaxing sensation.

The aim of applying this pressure is to loosen and relax muscles, encourage blood flow, and relax the nervous system. Cupping therapy has many uses, but it is most commonly used for the following concerns:

back and neck pain
migraines
fatigue
anxiety
skin problems
high blood pressure
respiratory problems.
 

Manual lymphatic drainage is a technique used to gently work and stimulate the lymphatic system, to assist in reduction of localized swelling. The lymphatic system is a network of slow moving vessels in the body that carries cellular waste toward the heart, to be filtered and removed. Lymph also carries lymphocytes, and other immune system agents. Manual lymphatic drainage claims to improve waste removal and immune function

While various types of reflexology related massage styles focus on the feet, massage of (usually) the soles of the feet is often performed purely for relaxation or recreation. It is believed there are some specific points on our feet that correspond to different organs in the body. Stimulation of these points during foot massage can cause significant reduction in pain. Studies also suggest that foot reflexology massage can reduce fatigue and promote better sleep.

Personal training services focus on areas that complement massage therapy for pain relief such as: strength, flexibility, and balance, static and/or PNF stretching*, nutrition, and self-myofascial release. Sessions will be tailored to fit individual needs and can be adjusted according to each client’s mobility needs, pain level, and abilities.
